I'm pretty sure it's the intermittent wash/wipe unit. I asked Jack to send me one because I thought it was the unit itself that was faulty, but I should have inspected it more closely in the first place - the unit isn't connected. There's obviously been a problem with it in the past because one of the wires has been deliberately cut. The unit is 2.5inches long, 1.5 inches high and 1 inch wide and has a dark brown metal cover with wires coming out of the bottom to a connector. The wires are red, yellow, blue and blue/white. It's located just to the left and above the steering column but if yours is connected I suspect the wire will be difficult to find. I think it's probably going to be easiest to take out the instrument panel and try to get at it that way. Not to worry - just idle chatter really.
