I’ve liked Lancia Gamma Coupes ever since I can remember knowing about them. Like most people I was first attracted to them for their looks but even after I found out about all their quirks and problems I liked them even more! The idea of a gorgeous Italian car that was not designed by marketing men really appealed to me. So when I bought my Gamma Coupe as a 40th birthday present to myself (hence normally referred to as my midlife crisis car) I was rather disappointed but not very surprised that most of my friends and relatives thought I was crazy to buy such a car. Possibly because of that I feel it’s my duty to convert as many people as possible to the wonderful world of Gamma motoring. If I can’t convert them I should at least make them aware of Lancia Gammas.

So when I found out that Attaboy TV were looking for certain ‘interesting’ cars to feature in a new series of motoring programs called “Dream Drives” I did my best to convince them that one of the cars they should feature is the Lancia Gamma Coupe even though it was not on their list of 'interesting cars'. And convince them I did! So the Gamma and I spent last Friday (02/09/2005) at Kemble Airfield near Cirencester in the Cotswolds, filming with the Attaboy TV crew.

Apparently the car will have just a two-minute slot in the half hour program but hopefully that should be enough to make some more people aware of the Lancia Gamma. The program, which apparently now has been renamed to “Classic Car Club”, is part of a ten episode series to be shown on the Discovery channel. The series should start sometime in November 2005 but that has not been confirmed yet.
