Hello Gerry. I am not sure "higher is better" for a Gamma. Being that Gammas have a reputation for building up too much pressure and even blowing radiator hoses apart, I would have thought lower might be better. I believe the radiator cap from an Alfa 33 (also flat four engine) will fit a Gamma and it has a much lower pressure rating (10lbs or even 8 lbs, I can't remember... old age!) I'll try and get one and try it to see if it works and if there's any difference in the effectiveness of the cooling system. If the engine cooling works fine with the lower pressure cap, I'll feel safer keeping that on.
