The LMC has negotiated a special rate on the P&O Dover/Calais ferry of £70 return for a journey between 28th August and 17th September. This has to be booked by 31st March. Are we are going to drive down together (or at least arrange overnight and lunch stops)? If so we should book the same ferry dates and times I think. I presume Turin can be driven in 2 days easily from Calais - I estimate about 670 miles, so an early morning ferry on the Sunday should be OK, however I think we'll probably give ourselves a bit more time, maybe taking in the first part of the London to Brighton run on the Saturday (2nd) then catch a late afternoon boat and drive a few hours into France. This would give two shorter drives on the Sunday and Monday and allow some time in case of emergencies! Coming back I presume we'll leave on the Sunday morning (10th)aiming to catch a ferry on Monday evening. If anyone's done this before and has advice on route and timings please let me know.
