When I first bought my gamma, about 10 years ago, it came with blown head gaskets (as they do).I got new head gaskets , but they didnt come with new liner paper gaskets,. On strip down of the engine, it was found that the liners had sunk, so I made some liner gaskets out of the only stuff I had around, which was from memory, phospher-bronze sheet, about .5mm thick I think which brought the liners up above the block the required amount. this worked fine during the time this engine was in the car, but I only did about 5,000 miles on this fix before I changed out that motor for a reconditioned one.My only concern was if there was any reaction or corrosion going on between the alli" and phospher/bronze. I still have that engine sitting under the bench, but have not stripped it to see if there was any reaction. I must do that someday, but it wont be anytime soon. Personally I think a hard gasket would be better than paper. Thats my thoughts Gerry
