I remember Ian Hodson's article about failing rear strut top mounts. That's why I took mine off when changing the rear struts, cleaned the old paint off and then covered them with nearly a whole tin of black hammerite. A few years later the rest of the rear suspension turrets fell apart on my car but the strut top mounts were still as good as new! Since you have a spare tank why not just swap it to see if things improve? It’s a fairly easy and quick job to do on a Gamma. Will we see you at Gaydon in another car if the Gamma is not ready? I still need to change the water pump on my Gamma before Sunday...
