Hi Theo, Geoff and all fellow Gammisti. First off I would like to put my state of mind into perspective for Geoff. It was with a light hart and great relief to discover that the Consortium meeting in April would take place during a weekend. This works out perfectly for me as (currently) I am only allowed to sign myself out for unsupervised short durations with the proviso that no sharp objects accompany me. This very low period of my life has been forced upon me and indeed brought about by the continuous assumptions of people whom I just have meet or introduced to for the first time(theo), in assuming that I am either a VW or that I automatically drive one.(thank for the relapse MATE!) Corrado is in fact, a very proud Italian name. A name that should never have been plastered on the arse of a “cheap bast**d son of a MK2 Golf.” Not my view of course, but the words of sweet, soothing comfort by Dr. Murphy at the institute – and besides it helps me sleep at night when the lights go out, the doors are locked and the dogs start howling across the Moors. I hope that my introduction has alleviated any fears Geoff may have harbored that I am sane and therefore by default duly qualify as a Gamma owner. Next up and thanks Theo for your eBay link. I have actually been in contact with the seller, (his name is John Frankland )since just before Christmas and he is in fact holding onto 2 coupes for me to view next week when I’m back in the UK, the silver one in the eBay picture (parts only) and believe it or not, an Ice Blue manual in the garage. He clams its in good order and its been in there for 18 years! The real question is should I buy the first I view or do I hang out if there are others that are for sale within the consortium. I really want an Ice Blue S2 manual Gamma Coupe, nothing else and a “project” does not bother me - been there, done that. For the record, I live in Wexford, a town located on the coast in the South East corner of Ireland and only 12 miles from Rosslare harbor, and I’m in the Restaurant business. At present I drive a VW Corrado VR6 Storm – sorry a force of habit. I actually drive an Alfa Romeo 164 24v, I love it, wife hates it and a Volvo S80 T6, wife loves it, I hate it. In addition, as well as loving all things Italian that feasts on petrol, I like and own Saabs. Also just starting a restoration on a Maserati Merak SS, its been in the family a long time – long story. Well that’s my life story so far and regarding the question of a 131 fetish Theo, what red blooded male can’t resist a 131 Abarth in Alitala lingerie, Oops! Livery. Oh! By the way a Stradale in Blue or Orange does it for me too. Thanks for the warm welcome and I’ll touch base with you guys later. Corrado
