At the last Gamma Consortium AGM, several members expressed an interest in visiting Ireland with our Gammas next year so I offered to contact the Irish Lancia Club and see if we could join in their annual get-together. David Mirolo in Ireland has been single-handedly organising most of their events lately but he is very willing to organise something especially for participation by the UK Gamma Consortium. He has a couple of hotels in mind around Wicklow that are good value and have good food. Wicklow is not too far from the port when we arrive in Ireland. Cork is also a good place and also a strong possibility as there are a few members of the Irish Lancia Club in the Cork region that can help with a good route. I have been there before and can confirm that it's a lovely area of Ireland (all of Ireland is lovely in fact) and the Ballincollog hotel is a good venue. The problem of organising such an event is the usual one of having no idea how many people are likely to turn up. So this early posting with limited venue details is made so we can gauge interest. The event will take place in mid to late April next year so if you think you might be interested in joining, please post here and let us know so we can get a rough idea of numbers. It'll take place over the weekend of 27th-29th April 2018 and our base will be The Brandon House Hotel & Solas Croi Eco Spa, New Ross, County Wexford, Ireland (http://The Brandon House Hotel & Solas Croi Eco Spa, New Ross, County Wexford, Ireland). The hotel is about 2 hours' drive from the ferry port in Dublin and under an hour from the port in Rosslare. Prices are still being negotiated but expect €90.00 BB for 2 People sharing Per Night or €70.00 for Singles. Lunches and dinners will be at an additional cost but we expect to be having the dinner on Saturday night at the Brandon House Hotel. While we don't expect anyone to book at this time, we would like to have a firm commitment before the 12th of January so the required number of rooms can be reserved with the hotel. Lancia Ireland annual Rally April 27th 28th and 29th 2018 This year we are heading to Ireland's Ancient east, exploring the many quiet and good roads in the New Ross area and as far down south as Hook light house. The hotel is about an hour from Rosslare harbour and an hour and a half from Dublin port.
