Hi everyone hope you are all still well and not sick of all my questions yet if not here is another regarding inlet manifold gaskets for the series 2 injection model, as  i am stripping the engine bay for painting and cleaning everything up i removed everything inc the intake manifolds and the gaskets that came off are about 5mm thick but compressed to about 4mm however the gasket kit i have from the consortium states gamma 2000/2500 but does not set injection/carb  and the intake gaskets are only about 2mm thick before being compressed so a lot thinner i am wondering will this effect injector spray/atomisation as everything is closer to the intake chamber than it should be by about 4mm so are thicker gaskets correct for injection cars and thinner gaskets for carb cars or vise versa and has anyone fitted these thinner gaskets to injection cars? i know all this sounds OTT but on moderns these days it makes a big difference any thoughts thanks

Hi, injection manifold should have two
gaskets and a solid spacer each side.
All injectors fire together so spray should not be affected.

Hi many thanks for your reply the spacer and gaskets you mention are what came of mine originally but can't seem to get these anywhere so will fit the thinner ones and see if they are ok.
thanks

You should re-use the spacers
with new gaskets.
